MADE PLACES, Tuesday 6th November from 630pm

MADE PLACES, Tuesday 6th November from 630pm

We're proud to present: "MADE PLACES"
Tuesday 6th November from 630pm

What role does or should the built environment play in connecting, harmonising and supporting communities? We'll hear from some of the leading names in architecture along with place-makers of community to better understand the role that architecture is expected to play in today's world.

On 6th November we'll uncover some of the most prolific and lesser known developments and buildings that have helped shape a community. Moderated by David Michon, the former editor of Icon magazine, and former managing editor of Monocle magazine and Winkreative creative agency. He set out as an independent strategist and consultant in January of 2016, focusing on creative projects across a range of categories, largely focusing on property, architecture and design.

About the panel:

Graham Burn, Studio Mutt
Graham Burn is a director of Studio MUTT, an architecture studio with roots in London and Liverpool. The underlying mission of the studio is to create characterful projects which are unique, specific and joyful. Graham is a graduate of the University of Liverpool, the Bartlett and the AA, and he currently teaches in Unit K at Oxford Brookes.

Anthony Teasdale, Umbrella Magazine
Anthony is the editor and co-founder of Umbrella: a magazine and website about culture and the urban environment. He admits to being obsessed with both underground railways and Italian knitwear boutiques.

Tim Gledstone, Squire & Partners
Tim Gledstone is a Partner at award winning architecture and design practice Squire & Partners.  He led the team for the design of The Department Store in Brixton, and new co-working and creative workspace The Ministry for the Ministry of Sound. Tim has a passion for creating narratives in the design of buildings, and exploring traditional crafts alongside contemporary processes. His creative input has earned the practice a number of awards from the RIBA, British Council of Offices and the Civic Trust.

Arrivals: From 630pm, talk starts 7pm.
Address: The Pilgrm, 25 London Street, London, W2 1HH.
RSVP: rsvp@thepilgrm.com as spaces are limited.
